The Los Angeles Master Chorale (LAMC) is a nonprofit arts organization and resident company of the Music Center of Los Angeles County. Under the visionary artistic leadership of Grant Gershon, LAMC creates compelling and adventurous musical experiences – standard-setting live choral concerts of celebrated classics, undiscovered masterpieces, and world premiere commissions – in Walt Disney Concert Hall, the most exciting place in the country to hear music.

Our professional ensemble of singers is amazing! Sometimes you ill see all of them on stage – others times, perhaps 30 – others, 60 or more. Often there is an orchestra too, but you'll also find the Chorale accompanied by an eclectic array of instruments ranging from organ or piano to Mexican folk harp or perhaps a wonderful brass ensemble. Sometimes you can enjoy the Chorale in an a cappella concert – an enormous treat in this hall with its extraordinary acoustics.

The L.A. Master Chorale, according to the Los Angeles Times, is “the most exciting chorus in the country,” and we think they are right! Our company is focused on presenting the most innovative and adventurous concerts of the huge range of choral repertoire. Our audience tells us that the Master Chorale experience is like a wonderful journey—you never know what to expect around the next corner, but the adventure is fun, surprising, stimulating and often transforming.

We are extremely fortunate to have Grant Gershon -- one of the world's most gifted musicians – as our Music Director. Grant is youthful, exuberant, insightful and completely in love with music – all kinds of music. You'll discover the imaginative combinations of interesting repertory he programs to create new ways of listening to choral music. We now refer to his concert line-up as "vintage Grant Gershon" because it is always so interesting and, well, fun. He has friends all over the musical world, and often they join us on stage – musicians from the classical world, pop and Broadway and parts in between.

One of our most exciting ventures is to commission vibrant new choral works from the most creative and visionary composers of our time. And we have several commercial recordings as well. On this site, you'll find our CDs, including the Grammy Award-nominated Lauridsen-Lux Aeterna. Soon our latest CD on Decca featuring the work of Nico Muhly will be released. We’ll let you know when it is available.
